GAF Launches New Social Media App: ‘Protect What You Treasure Most’

Wayne, N.J. — GAF recently announced its “Protect What You Treasure Most” Campaign to coincide with its newly launched GAF app. The new app will feature documentary videos created exclusively for GAF by critically acclaimed photographer and filmmaker James Minchin III, which show families and what is treasured under their roofs. The app will allow users to create and post their own videos and photos. Users will then be entered into a giveaway to win weekly $100 gift cards to The Home Depot.

“At GAF we are aiming to change the way people think about their roofs. It’s not just a functional piece of the home that keeps out weather and the elements; it’s also a trusted structure that protects everything people value inside their houses. This new app allows us to do just that, and to connect with homeowners on what they value and treasure most,” said Alyssa Hall, marketing communications manager at GAF. “The weekly contest allows us to give back to our users, as we may all need a little helping hand with home improvements.”

GAF invites users to upload photos and videos of what they treasure most about their home and family to the new user-friendly app that will link directly to Facebook. Each user will have a personal page where other users can view their “Fan Collections.” GAF will select weekly winners of a $100 Home Depot gift card, and then one lucky grand prize winner will be chosen in October 2013 to win a $2,000.00 Home Depot shopping spree. All users who currently have a GAF roof are also eligible to enter a contest that will be featured in an upcoming GAF App webisode created by celebrity filmmaker James Minchin III. James’ has worked with stars like Adam Levine, Mumford and Sons, Jakob Dylan and Miley Cyrus.

“GAF understands a roof protects more than a house,” Hall said. “It protects the treasures people hold dear to their hearts. This new online community is open for all to join and to share what they treasure most through videos and photos. Users will also have the chance to learn what matters most to Americans all over the country.”
